CHL’s Virology/COVID-19 team has played an instrumental part in New Zealand’s COVID-19 pandemic response, having performed over 650,000 tests so far!
By using a range of state-of-the-art molecular platforms, in conjunction with cutting edge research, the team has rapidly expanded its testing capabilities and works in collaboration with other DHBs and the Ministry of Health to ensure that the nations testing requirements can be met, the addition to performing COVID-19 testing for Canterbury and the West Coast.
CHL is able to perform both PCR and serological pre-departure travel testing and works closely with medical practices to ensure that results are returned to travelers prior to their flight departure time.

Pre-departure COVID-19 testing is not covered by the public health sector and as such, will incur a fee. The cost of the pre-departure testing is solely at the discretion of your chosen facility.
